Previous experience

 

Dean has over 26 years of experience in the financial services industry, focusing on providing expert technical pensions and investment advice. This has been delivered through a foundation of establishing and maintaining outstanding client relationships, many of whom have been with Dean for over 20 years.

Dean began his career in financial services with Scottish Equitable, starting out as a trainee pensions consultant, qualifying to become a pensions consultant, and culminating as a senior pensions specialist, working very closely with several prestigious financial advisory firms throughout the UK.

 

After six years with Scottish Equitable, Dean decided to establish his own independent financial advisory (IFA) firm. By this time he had attained the highest levels of qualification within the pensions and investments market places.  

  

After only a few years of running his own IFA firm, Dean was headhunted to join St James’s Place (SJP) as a pension specialist. This meant working closely with other SJP partners/advisers, and their clients, advising on their respective pension portfolios, creating bespoke retirement solutions, within the SJP stable of products.

After seven years with SJP, Dean moved back into the independent market, allowing him to advise on the entire market place, and not being restricted to just those of SJP. It was during this period that Dean not only advised his own clients, but was also invited to consult to several other prestigious IFA firms, accountancy fumes and solicitors practices, and their clients.

After many years of building and running a very successful business, Dean identified that the IFA market had changed significantly, and not necessarily, in his opinion, for the good of his clients, with ever increasing costs, and gradually reducing return expectations, Dean decided that he wanted a new challenge, where he could work closely with clients to help them achieve the returns they desire, in a cost effective way.
